Agricultural Microbiology and Biotechnology Laboratory

The Laboratory of Agricultural Microbiology and Biotechnology, established in 2010 by Professor Dimitris Tsaltas, is a stimulating environment for learning and applying knowledge to improve agricultural output through innovative microbiological procedures. The primary research goal of the group is to investigate agro-industrial fermentations, as well as microbial activities and interactions in agrifood ecosystems. The group is also strongly engaging in research and development projects funded by the industry via direct or competitive funding, helping the industry attract national funds for R&D. In addition, the group engages in multiple Innovation Action projects funded by the EU under competiitive schemes of funding.
