Professor Alexandros Charalambides participated in a live interview on the Cypriot radio programme Πρωινή Επιθεώρηση, where he introduced AgriSphere, the international platform connecting innovators, researchers, farmers, and institutions from Cyprus, Spain, and Japan. During the discussion, he highlighted how AgriSphere enables users to register their ideas, technologies, or research interests and gain access to a collaborative ecosystem that supports knowledge exchange and international testing of digital agricultural solutions.

He explained the purpose of the initiative: to help innovators find partners, understand regulatory contexts abroad, and validate their technologies in real agricultural environments. A central element of the interview was the Open Call, which offers selected startups, researchers, and entrepreneurs up to 20,000 EUR to pilot their ideas in Spain or Japan. Charalambides stressed that this funding supports short research stays, field visits, stakeholder meetings, and experimentation, helping participants determine the feasibility and scalability of their solutions across different agri-climatic and regulatory conditions.

He also noted that several Cypriot companies and research teams have already joined the platform, bringing innovations such as sensor-based monitoring, advanced imaging, new materials, and agrivoltaic concepts. The interview concluded with a reminder that registration is open to anyone interested, and that AgriSphere aims to strengthen Cyprus’s agricultural innovation landscape by connecting it with leading international ecosystems.
